$70 To Spend on a New 10" Sub

oh, well those are perfect recommendations for his car, coming from a car audio forum........ would be nice to get back on track with some good sub rec.....and i said good, not troll attempts
They weren't mentioned as recommendations for the OP's vehicle. I think you know that and I think you're salty about having been trolled. The fact is, there is a Sony driver or a Pioneer driver that would more than get the job done. I'm not sure what kind of cone flex or coil burning you think 130 watts is going to produce, lol.

no, pointing out that an explode was a retarded choice, while not hijacking the thread with discussion best suited for another thread, is what i have been trying to do...... now, the o.p. may just want to go to another forum, and get roped into a mass nut-swing supported sub...... last i checked, we didn't want to run people off the tech sections.....

BTW: the Sony 12" has a BL product of 14.8TM and the 10" is rated at 14.1TM. That is up there quite a bit for a 9 lbs subwoofer of the car audio genre. Especially one sold in Wal-Mart. And that's relatively high considering a 1w/1m of 83dB, +/-2dB. Looks like I have to revoke the Pioneer equivalence because they no longer have Pioneer on their website as carried product.

You mean like when you tried to run off NutHugger because of the suggestions he made?
lulz

I can also point out a low inductance, low distortion Xplode driver. A couple, in fact. You shouldn't let brand name get in the way of enjoying true performance no matter where it comes from. I mean, who doesn't like to save money? Is this like the fat chick/moped thing?

ok, i thought about it...... i may have not been right either propigating an arguement, but your first response was kind of caustic and demeaning...... so, even if i get in trouble, i'm going to report the thread to get cleaned up, and move on.

Dude, you'd be well off to just hit Wal-Mart and grab one of those 12's in a box.....Pioneer or Sony. Their "who gives a Fck over the counter swap out warranty" is the best. Those subs are meant to get the job done on small power.
^^^ This was his first post in this thread. In what way is it demeaning? I think you're more worried about how you look in this thread.

ok, sure, i look like an idiot, mk.....happy? still doesn't help choose a good sub...

....oh, btw, if i was worried about that, i would just go back and edit/delete my posts, instead of reporting myself. can alway make a new off-topic, or general disc. thread if you want to talk about it.... and support that other forum there, too, instead of doing it in all the subwoofer threads on here

akheathen: i wouldn't consider anything you've said to make you look like an idiot. that was never my goal.........only to help our OP. so i hope you don't think i'm sitting here clapping and jumping up and down because you believe you look like an idiot. i didn't say that and wouldn't say that. i think there's a fine line between standing up for something you believe in and accepting some level of evidence to be true in the face of and contrary to your own proclamations. how else do we all learn if we don't test our theories in either debate or controlled experiments? almost everything we've ever learned we've tested in some way or another right?

catch you later

what i've been trying to keep to, is not to derail the main point of this thread. there are, however threads just for that. buried beneath our posts, are many suggestions, but i don't think o.p. got his answer..... i take at least half responsibility..

Here's the list so far:

re10

Peerless SLS

infinity ref

DD510

pg

jbl gt5-10

**** sony ****

For a .65 cu in enclosure, 4 ohm, 130w rms, only ~5in m/depth, focus on quality rather than spl

Maybe I should be focusing on subs designed for smaller enclosures?

Look into infinity reference too i got to 10's in my ride amazing quality there also rated 250rms may be hard to find though
Def a killer recommendation, these are very surprising drivers, even the 8 sealed was more than I expected (.2 net lol is optimum for the 8, .65 should be perfect for the 10 to have a nice Qtc)
