Are we aware of the ONLY thing that is going to generate volume in that sealed box if the location and amplifier power are identical in the comparison? Cone area x excursion. His output will purely be a function of excursion and how well the driver parameters align with the waveguide that his trunk and cabin comprise. He'd be no better off with another model with 130w of power in this alignment.

i almost spit coffee all over my computer, and that would really pizz me off....... i'd bring up stuff like bl, and so on, but i don't think you could grasp it, so.....

oh, and i have gone and bought wall-mart subs when they first started with the roadmaster..... i couldn't see letting others fall victim, so i payed 53 for a yellow "1000watt" 15, cooked it leaving the parking lot to work, exchanged it at lunch, and cooked another, and exchnaged it after work, adn then cooked another on my way to the next wall-mart, since i cleared them out. got the last one, after cooking that one, the next morning, and then got my money back after work.... just couldn't seem to get one that would take the 900watt kicker amp at more than half power.....oh well, never saw the subs for sale again........ and they just would not put out, either.

I think he covered that with the all-encompassing reference to the driver's parameters. As in T/S? The point remains, displacement is the root component in sealed alignments.

DD 510. Brand new re-cone. $80 shipped
Looks nice but I don't know if it will fit in the enclosure I'm using. Also, the sealed box rec is 1.5 ft. I'm not really sure how important that actually is, but it's >2x what I have (.65ft).

that's my point, with so little box volume, you simply need a sub that was made to move easily in small sealed enclosures. I could only think of a few drivers worse than a DD510 to put in that box.....namely.....the DD1510, 3510, 9510 and up. The 2510 would be about equal to the 510. The 1010 would be the best DD to put in there. But, it won't do anything more than the Pioneer sub at Wal-Mart on 130w and it also won't have near the bottom end.
