7 or 8 inch midbass

That would get my vote. Sorry, not trying to be a downer, but if you really are wanting to do this for better SQ, gotta do it right. Proper install is key, and speaker placement is a very fundamental portion of getting things right. Id hate to have you spend the money, do the work, and then be disappointed.

Good luck man.

How well are the Rainbow's installed in your doors?

How well deadened?

How well is the door sealed?

How solidly is the speaker mounted to the door?

Where are the SLC's highpassed?

What slope?

Could be something we can work on in the install to get some more midbass out of your current speakers.

they are on 3/4 mdf baffles with silicone underneath( instead of clay)

no deadening yet

door is sealed everywhere possible but has like 8 open holes where the panel hooks on

its solidly mounted

highpassed @ 80

dont know the slope

Fully deaden your door and you should see an improvement. The most important thing about SQ is to use the gear you have to it's fullest extent before adding more. KISS (keep it simple stupid)

Kicks aren't really possible in a vehicle like this...trust me, I'm looking at the same thing he's looking at //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The only way to get beefy midbass drivers in a door panel like this would be to fiberglass the panel, luckily, there's plenty of room for that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
