6x9 to 4x6 plate conversion

My dad wants to replace his 6x9's in his old school, but im thinking of instead of replacing them with 6x9's im thinking 4x6 plates. The 4 6x9's he has in his rear deck were pretty loud but i dont know either to refer him back to 6x9's or switch to the plates.

If so whats the best plates on the market? he wants the best sound, he has a 400x4 jensen amp oldschool

why would you replace 6x9's with 4x6's ? that sounds like a downgrade to me

Why not go to 4 6.5 rounds

If he likes the 6x9's he will not be happy at all going to 4x6's. If you really want to help get him something better to listen to keep a couple of 6x9's in the rear and look into a component set up front.

Put something like Pioneer REV 6x9's in the back and a good set of 6.5" components up front.

Well i was thinking of the pioneer rev 6x9's there are 4 6x9's in the rear deck, no front stage, we would have to build door pods to add something up front, its a 63 olds holiday dynamic 88, i guess i will stick with the 6x9's for him, i loved my pioneer rev gotta try to find them for cheap
