6x9 ported box plans?

i got 2 6x9's im about to put in my single cab truck. it doesnt have cutouts for 6x9's in it so im just making boxes. i'm going also put mounts on them so i can take them out of the cab and hook them on the bed whenever im hanging out at the beach... i want to get all of the bass out of the 6x9's thats why im going ported. any ideas for volume?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Depends on the 6x9's...I'm ported dedicated mids before, and it worked fine...I don't see anything wrong with porting your 6x9's for some added low-end(assuming you don't have a sub). Something like .5ft^3 tuned in the 40's will probably work well.

why stop? i just got this truck for 250 so i can save up money to buy a jeep cherokee. i know its not gonna flex any panels by far but right now im riding around with a f***ing boom box for a stereo. sorry i wanna have some sound.

what kind of speakers did you run? and no i dont have a sub nor intend on putting one in. its a single cab truck and while i could do a 10 or 2 im not going to put more into the stereo than i did to buy the truck lol. and these respond down to 28hz so i'm thinking tuning to 40's will be a good deal.

Why not just buy a pair of bookshelf home speakers, bolt them in your truck and call it a day? A set of smaller JBLs will only run you about 50 bucks on ebay.

I think this a kind of a cool Idea, I always wanted to try it, might be a new trend! LOL! I would think around what Ryan said would sound good, but maybe tuned a little higher like 50 since they don't like to go that low, at least the cheaper ones anyway.. It will help with port length too, cuz its gonna be kind of long with that small of an enclosure.

Yeah, 8sqin port, for .5 cubes is like 14" long! you could try a little less port area to bring it down a bit I guess since its not really a woofer..

Could be, I guess since you put a 10 in that much box sometimes, it could be a bit big, maybe a .25 or .35 CF would be better? Gonna be an external port for sure then!

I ran Kicker SSMB8's in .75ft^3 boxes tuned to 45hz, and got some decent volume out of them. Xmech was the killer on those shallow mids though.

tuned freq: 46.24

The re calc works pretty good, I would say its definitely close..
