6x9 box question, opening or not?

i have 2 6x9's in 2 portable boxes, fully enclosed. should i make a small hole in the back of each box for the bass?

i think sub boxes, and computer subwoofers usually have a little hole for air to escape..

should i do it?>

No, don't do it. Those holes you're talking about are called "ports" and have more to to them than just drilling a hole in the back of the enclosure.

well because i already had them and they fit perfectly behind my front seats, and i finally got an amp for them. dont really want teeth rattling bass from a 10 or 12

Why not just upgrade your front stage so your midbasses can handle subbass frequencies?

Whole lot better idea than having 6x9 boxes in back that can become good projectiles in a wreck...not to mention that it trashes the front sound stage.

well i just did get new 6.5 speakers 60rms. but they rattle my doors SOOO much unless my highpass is on like 125.. so i am gonna try to deaden my doors tommorow. and i like the speakers right behind the seat for that extra punch/ full sound feeling, Its just the way i like it, but i just gotta fix the door rattle
