6x8 speakers?

Im helping a friend put a system in his 06 ford ranger x cab. Crutchfield says its got 6x8 front and back. We looked up some alpine type s 6x8 comps for $119. Any other suggestions? I know there are adapters to hold 6.5 comps in the spaces, where to get them or will the alpines do fine. I sold him my old kenwood 150x2 to power them. He doesnt mind spending more, but not much over $200. I told him to run deck power to the stock rears. He will be running a alpine 9856 hu. Thanks, Chuck
