6 x 9 problem

last week i unhooked my 2 12 jls and hooked up another system to sell it. i hooked mine back up and in the process, the fuse under the hood blew. i unhooked my entire amp just to play it safe. since then i bought a new fuse and hooked it all back up. the problem is in the process, my left 6x9 made a humming noise. once it got later in the day, the same speaker would get all static like everytime i would turn my car on and off. i had the wire to the speaker cut. turns out there is already a amp in my car running to the 6x9s and the wire that was cut was the amp wire. i was told if i taped the wires back together, the static would stop. well, it didnt. i asked around, and have heard it could be a shorted wire or another fuse or anything of that nature. its a 2004 cavalier and the 6x9s are stock if it helps. any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.thanks
