Can I run 4 6.5’s and 2 6x9’s in parallel on a taramps md1200.1? All speakers are 4 ohm, final ohm would be 1.5 ohm load so I’d need a 1 ohm stable mono amp right?
No. Four 4 Ohms speakers give a final 1 Ohm load. 6 gives a .66 Ohms final load. 6 coils divided by 4 Ohms. You could wire 3 in series for 12 Ohms then parallel them with the other 3 for a 6 Ohms final load. Amp is plenty powerful for that load. Can I run 4 6.5’s and 2 6x9’s in parallel on a taramps md1200.1? You can run all six with that 4 channel. It is made to run at 2 Ohms per channel, which you are running it at 4 Ohms. You can parallel the 6.5s on the front channels and the 6x9s take the rear channels. Just make sure to adjust the front gain carefully.I’m currently running a ds800x4 on 4 6.5’s, i planned on adding 2 6x9’s to my saddlebags and thought i could run all 6 on 1 amp instead of 2.
