6 channel amp whats out there??

sorry no msn here i dont even have aim on this computer right now.. just finished building it yesterday bare minimum on it right now.. i can tomm while at the shop ...

I'm west coast so you can get me pretty much all day. I have a super busy day tomorrow in the shop so it might take me a bit to get back to you.

Pm me a breakdown on the system please. VC arrangement on the subs and how you have the speakers set up for front / rear / and crossovers. More info the better.

the subs are dual 1ohm coils, fronts are scan midrange, seas lotus tweeters, midbass are seas lotus... everything has been installed to the cust tastes we tried a number of mounting options for the front with him and he decided on what he has now... the only issue we have right now really is with the sub amp not liking the 1 ohm overall load on it... it gets way to hot and shuts down.... other than that the audison 6 channel sounds awsome...

does he want matching amps or will the fashion police give him a ticket for mismatched amps? Here is something to chomp on.

Eclipse DA7232 dual mono amp. I have used this many times and it is a fricken monster powerhouse that was designed by B&O. It is highly conservatively rated at 850w rms x 2 into 2 ohms and measures 21" x 11 1/16".

After that you will need to look for a pair of PA5422 amplifiers (85w rms x 4) or a PA4122 (130w rms x 2) which might be a good idea for the midbass drivers.

Now the PA series of amps is discontinued but they are asthetically matched to the DA7232. The new amps are again B&O designed and are a full range class D design that I have had amazing results with. The XA4000 is 125w rms x 4 and measures 15 3/4" x 10 3/16". Add to it another one of the same if you want to give the midbass drivers copious amounts of power or saddle in a XA2000 for midbass duty at 100w rms x 2.

If you can find the older series of Eclipse amps, they are close in colour. I took mine apart for the last 2 systems and powder coated them to get them the same. My bet is that your customer would want you to do the same. Should take about 10 minutes to rip each amp down and another 30 minutes to prep the amp for shooting the powder onto it.

i know same here about the quality. i have no experience with them size wise they are great.. but i dont like all the cheap jumpers all over the 600.4 and 800.4 they always turn me off... usually mean a one sided cheaper board as well.. the 2400 looks very nice ..... you know i cant understand what all these new companies put so much **** time and efforet into the big sub amps making them as nice as they do and the they just cheap out and skimp on thier 4 channels?? i have seen some super nice sub amps (oz vector for instance) bu hell when i opened the 4 channel i think i threw up a little... what were they thinking...

Not quite sure if it fits in his budget, but if profile and looks is anything...

Give Genesis a call. They have some of the smallest profile, best looking amplifiers, and well respected name in SQ.

My sugguestion :

Genesis Monoblock (1200@1ohm)

Genesis Four Channell

Genesis Miniblock OR Genesis Dual Mono
