how do u think it will sound if i took out my 12" comps and used 6 or 8 8" ma audio subs...they are rated at 200wrms...and run about 1250rms at 1ohm to all 6...this would still be in my single cab pickup so i dont know if i have enough airspace for 8...btw ma audio sells 4 8" subs for about 120 on ebay!!

8's would most likely yield a better result, easier to build a box for multiple 8;s than 2 12's and fit it behind the seat. I would give it a shot.

I never had a problem with mine.

Of course my T3 TSS 12s are far superior. My MA 8s sounded good. Hit low, my highest SPL was 144.3 with all 8 and 143.7 with 4) in a different box.

well i think i could use my same box and just take the front board (with the 12" holes cut out) off and a screw a new one one with the 8" holes cut out...this way i would be using the same box as before which performs excellently with my comps....and how do yall think they'd do in a sealed box??? would they drop pretty low

Stop now... Unless the box would have adequate air space for all the 8's, you would have to build a new box. Sealed would sound decent, but it would lack the output potential that the ported enclosures have. It would definitely hit the lows, but you wouldn't have the output that a ported box has. The ported box could hit the lows just as well as the sealed, if built/tuned right.

thing is...i'm using a single cab truck...my seats are slid about all the way up....the back of my box is fiberglassed to my cab to fit as close as possible to the wall of my cab....and if i build a ported box, it will have to be bigger....now how does it sound to use 6 subs instead of 8...

well what is the size of your box?

What is the airspace required by each sub?

using deduction we can figure out if you have enough room for 6 or 8 subs.

Do you have room in front of the box to do aero ports? Like on teh far side or anything?
