6.5" or 10" Subs

Alright so I'm looking to finish my audio setup and all I need is subs. When I bought everything else, HU, amp, and speakers, I put into consideration the car I'll be getting after college.

Right now I have a 2000 Audi A4 w/ the Bose package.

My question is, should I get 6.5" subs to replace the stock ones in the rear deck(2 subs) or should I get 10" subs and get a box.

The car I'm getting after college is going to be an Infiniti G37 which has 10" sub mounts in the front door (my dad has one with Infiniti Studio on wheels).

10" or 6.5"? What'll be the difference in quality?

You're not going to be installing 10" subs into any car doors. If you just need bass to be heard down to 20 Hz then 6.5" subs in the rear deck will suffice. If you want the bass to be felt, like most young guys, you need to go bigger with either a trunk baffle and the most cone area you can fit, or a vented enclosure.

Ive seen a few 8" and 10" midbass install in the g37 and they took a bunch of work to do. The factory speaker is funny 10" that is super slim. Again all the install ended up being midbass not subs. 6.5 subs can work but usually are in some type of box to get the most out of them. In the rear deck you will need to deaden the deck and most likely wont get out what a decent 10 in a box will give you. In your case, I would say go with a decent 8" on 10" in a box.
