6.5"... massive midbass

looking to do an active/hybrid 3-way. passive 3.5" components and 6.5 midbass drivers in the stock doors location. i cant remember the speaker company but they produce a 6.5 mid that can be used for a sub. im looking for a midwoofer that has some serious midbass. wish like i could remember the name of that company. any other mid suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanx

hmmm... this company uses the same technology. xbl suspension. i cant believe i can remember the name of this company. alot of people have been using their 6.5 drivers in bass horn set-up's.

the mypres are actually very different motors than the exodus, but very similar performance wise.

Never heard a bad thing about the mpyre except you have to find them used now. Most people love the exodus but they are 8 ohm and a lot of the sq guys say them need a lot of power to make them wake up. You also see most use them in some type of enclosure. I didnt see if you were trying to run something free air in a door. The problem with some of the really good midbass, they need a super damped/dead doors or some type of enclosure to sound right.

I would look at the CDT Audio HD-6MDVC 6.5" subwoofer, which is dual 4 Ohms, or the new ES-6MO 6.5" midwoofer which is the latest product from CDT. The ES-6MO is 4 Ohms, a true 6.5" diameter rather than ~6.75", plus it has a 2.5" mounting depth to fit more doors. Both of these models come with a 1 year warranty which can be upgraded to 5 years for only $10. If you manage to break them I will replace them.

There's also a 6.5 subwoofer from Tang Band. I have an 8 from them and it kills it.

actually the specs i got from cdt says the es-6mo are 2 ohm mid woofers. anyway i have a set for sale on the forum here if interested ,with warranty
