6 1/2 subs??

I have a 96 Mustang Cobra. I am looking to add some bass without sacrificing room and also on a very tight budget. I am not big into bass, the factory mach 460 system provides plenty of bass, it just isn't clean. I am considering replacing the rear deck speakers with 6 1/2 Kicker CVT subs. I am trying to find the amp specs for the mach 460, and depeding on those I may run them off the factory amp or get a small 300 watt amp to use. Question: how are the 6 1/2 subs, and how will this sound? Just a crazy idea, not sure if it will work or be worth the time/money. Thanks for any input.

Yes, I should have added that. The CVT and JL 6WO is also something I am considering. Just found out about this, so really just trying to find out IF it would work before I go in depth searching for the right equipment. I just don't know about the small subs. Also, I am gonna loose my speaker, so I may not run the amp on LP so vocals can come through. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I like the price of the Kickers, but the JL rep makes me want to consider those. Looks like if I go through with this I will want a decent 300 watt amp (probable a mono Kicker or 2 channel Fosgate depending on the subs). Would this add quite a bit of bass? I had 2 10's in my last vehicle, way more than I needed, so I would think this would be about half as loud, which should be perfect. Does anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work? How will the subs perform since they will be open air and not enclosed in a box? Thanks.
