5000-watt amplifier (SAZ-5000D)

i already have one with what will be basically the same internals just a different casing and it is farkin hhhhuuuuuggggeeee it is striclty for those wanting mean mega comp bass or groundpounder/comp cars i mean mine does something like 7500wrms at 18v and linked at 2 ohms 14900wrms its huge but the power they make is good clean and strong and it does drag a it of current but next to say a A/B 3000 or 4000w its nothing the only problem i have with mine is the foot print it takes up most of the boot floor

I was very reluctant to make the offer - I agree that the market is very small.

I also feel that very few people understand the current requirements to continuously operate an amp of even 3000 watts RMS output, much less 5kw or more!

This is distorted on the forums, I think, because of Street dB Drag where people burp 12 kw worth of amps on one battery... but thats not reality at all - it's a few second long burp. If you draw 300 amps of current continuously a 160 amp alternator and one battery won't work, period.

The offer was ONLY made at the request of *many* Team members and customers. It was insisted upon that if I made the offer people would come through, so I'm giving them the chance.

PS: I explained what the 2-year "discounted replacement" part of the warranty means over on SSA. If someone wants to past it over here thats okay with me but I don't want to be accused of spamming.

No thanks. Hell the 1500D is a little too much amp for my style. SQ all the way. (I should probably spend more time on DIYMA since that's the case, but those guys are too smart for me lol).
I agree with you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif A 1500-watt sub stage can be loud enough to easily cause permanent hearing damage.

its just recomended, if you have insufficient power, obviously you will begin to clip your amp. But I would think a 200 amp with some good batteries backing it should be ok.
If you have 500 amps of draw (which the 5k will be capable of) and a 200 amp alternator, you have 300 more amps left over to be supplied - how long can your bank supply 300 amps of draw before dropping well under 12 volts?

Not very long unless it's a huge bank, which most people won't have in a daily.

In my truck with four 3000s @ 1/2 ohm... two 200-amp alternators... and nine Powermaster D3100s I can get it under battery voltage playing one song. And I have a 200-400% impedance rise at almost all frequencies (tiny back chamber 4th order).

When you say playing one song, do you mean cranking it as you would to be metered at a competition or how you would for normal musical listening? My normal musical listen on my 3000D, i would listen somewhere inbetween 20-30 out of 60 on the headunit and don't need much more than that for daily.. but for competiting, it would be perfect for my setup to have that little extra power (well, not so little //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif)

Assuming you are responsible with it you are fine - I am reluctant to post anything but the MAXIMUM requirements since it's difficult to count on people to be responsible with equipment. Then they will say I said it was okay!

I mean playing a song @ my burp volume full blast - same HU position that burps 158.8 dB on the meter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Averages 152 - 154 for the song.

Also... lets talk about the 2-year discounted replacement warranty.
What does this mean to you, the buyer?

This is a $1200 amp on pre-order. It is NOT cheap. You have a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects that does NOT cover you below 1 ohm, does NOT cover you from abuse or mis-use. So, how are you protected?

Simple... for 2 years, if you blow this amp up - and it IS your fault - you send it in to me and get it replaced with a brand new amp for a flat cost. For this model the flat cost is going to be $400 shipped back to you.

Yep... that simple.
If I needed an amp that big I'd certainly buy it from you.

True, very true. But I think there is a better market for an amp that can be had at what $700-800? instead of one for $1200. Not saying people wont buy them, just a much more limited market as you go up in price. Jacob is a business man and knows what he is doing with the decisions he makes. I am just saying there is more profit im sure in selling the 3000s but its great that hes offering this opportunity none the less
Do you know how many JL 1000/1 amps have sold for almost the same price?

I agree here with what jacob has said i have been using my amp althought its not a sundown its still the same internals etc and on a daily basis its very hard to use i have to use more batterys now as ive tryed it with 3 and that is not enough so now im going to add a few more and put on a bigger alt but for burping and comps it would be awsome especially when they are linked i think you are making a goo desicion jacob by having them available

but i know from experience here in OZ they dont sell aswell as the 3000wrms and less amps as most dont want to spend the xtra dollers to make the car run witht that amount of power

and over here in oz a 5000wrms amp is more like 5000k dollers aswell

and then theres the problem of having subs big enough to even use the power its differnt in the states though as most subs there from FI SSA PAP RE etc are all starting rms powers of 1000wrms to 2000wrms

here in oz its more likly to get a 500wrms sub than a 1000wrms sub
