re sx sealed ok or not??

Hey guys I have a re sx 12 and the website says not to put these in a sealed box. I would like to save the space with a sealed box plus I think they sound a little better. Has anyone put this speaker in a sealed box with no worries. I just don't want to end up ruining a 500 speaker if it will not run in a selaed box.
