$500 Sony Xplods??

The ribbon tweeter does peak my interest, but it's still sony so I'd be pretty skeptical.

Infinity had a nice component set with ribbon tweeters probably 15 years ago. I think they had them in a 3way set too.

So definetly nothing new but unique none the less.

Hertz I believe uses some aswell. And many people have used various ribbon tweeters in DIY active set ups.
Anyways.....Sony has a ton of engineering power, and used to be top-shelf equipment. Yes, their target market shifted to lower-end in recent years....but they are certainly capable of producing incredible products.

I wouldn't knock it unless you've heard them.

Exactly what I was thinking.. They actually look pretty decent. Who knows how they perform.
