$500 for front stage in G6.....what to buy??

Hello all!

Like the title says, I have a budget of $500 to spend on a 4 channel amp and a set of front stage speakers.

I'm not worried about replacing the 6x9's in the trunk lid at this time.

I have 08' Pontiac G6 coupe with the monsoon 3 speaker setup in the doors. The new speakers must fit in the existing mounting areas, as I wont be building out the doors with fiberglass or anything of that nature. 6.5s are the correct size for the mids.

Just as a reference, the front stage will need to match up with a B2k amp pushing 2 12" subs in a custom box in the trunk. Most likely going to be 2 12" Fi Qs as $$ allows. I am currently running 2 Type R 12's.

Should I be shooting for the 125-150rms range with these?

Those do look like a great set of components, but I also need an amp w/in the $500.

What do you think of either of these amps?

MB Quartz Q4.150 (4x150rms@4ohm) ~ $200

MB Quartz ONYX4.125 (4x125@4ohms) ~ $180

Is it necessary to have 150rms for the front stage? It seems as most of the component sets are more in the 100w range.

Id do this:

ARC AUDIO XXD5080 Class D Car Audio Power Amplifier | eBay

Bridge channels 1 & 2 for the left side and 3 & 4 for the right side. Most 5 channels have an option to run 4 or 5 channel mode. When you get the money do deadener right away. It will make the most difference over adding a 3 way front and amp.

If you want you could drop to nice 2 way front stage, 4 channel, and deadener right away. You could do something like this:

And spend the remaining $75 on deadener.

Can you tell me why you like the Arc audio amps over the MB's?

Their power rating is about half for the same price.

Because they are a superior company. They have better internal parts, sound better, etc.

there is no denying arc audio is better than mb quart. but i went with my q150.4 because of more power for pretty much the same price. the sq is good has alot of option and its able to go active.
