by ear? thats the best way normally, turn the bass boost all the way down, and set the gain accordingly, put the volume up about 3/4 the way and set the gains, its not something you can do at low volume in your driveway at 3 in the morning....

probably have to pay them more than you are buyingh th meter for

it doesnt sound hard to do at all.. You could save yourself time and money.

be safer buying that one, idk bout that one on the net, but i've noticed a difference between companies, and craftsman does put out some of the best products i've ever seen for the money.

idk, if it feels close enough for you, then i guess it worked, but 10 bux for a 20 dollar meter is a good deal, speacially with all the options that has, and as much as you'll need a dmm if you tend to switch your system around, or buy different vehicles or help friends(charge per time you use your dmm...LOL) it'll come in quite handy.
