AND by that I take PHYSICALLY beat it huh? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifnot that much. I meen if you think about it, why would companies sell there subs in a ported box, if being ported just makes them prone to failure. Doesnt really make sense to me. it shouldnt impact the life of a sub that much. It will last as long as you want it as long as you take care of it and dont beet on it.
Yeah, if you put some crazy amount of power to it, then it probably won't last. If you send it a clipped signal too, that's bad. You should be fine with everything you have now, just be sure to set the gain properly. Check out the gain setting tutorial in the amp section.Over power.... like going past the rms right?
hmmm... and I should HEAR this clipping u speak of right? So i'll know theres something wrong? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifYeah, if you put some crazy amount of power to it, then it probably won't last. Sooo... much... to think about... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif This is more confusing that I thought. DUDES, clipping is distortion in sound right? AND I will hear it coming out my subs right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifif you really wanna get technical about it, sealed puts more "pressure" on the cone and restricts movement....which can be a bad thing have you a poorly designed box with improper power.
not always, clipping can almost be an invisible sound on most songs, blends in with the beat obviously. this was just talked about in another thread, forgot what it was that you used to catch it electronically, but normally if you have a decent amp and keep the gain no higher than 3/4 of the way up, shouldn't be an issue, clipping doesn't just damage the subs, the amp is at risk as well.Sooo... much... to think about... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif This is more confusing that I thought.
