500/1 for 12w7

will this be enough power for my 12w7? i know they recomend either a 500/1 or a 1000/1 for it but i dont know if it will still sound good and get pretty loud with out having the amp go into protect or getting messed up.

any help is appreciated

it will get loud, but the 1000/1 will bring out the w7's full capabilities.

I am running the 500/1 right now, and the thing surprises me every day. It has such a clean power output thanks to the RIPS system, and its rated 500RMS as any ohms and any input voltage, but I would say its pushing over 700RMS. I have it sent to the shop right now to get max power testing at a range of voltages. Ill let you know.

To me, running a W7 with a 500/1 would be like having a Cobra and never taking it over 65mph..
