I don't think I've heard anything that is bigger bullshit than that
Agree to disagree on Focal. No, Focal probably doesn't give the most "thump" for the money, but if you want QUALITY audio - well-balanced audio - as opposed to the most deafening within 20 square blocks or the most likely to make you lose bowel control, it's hard to top Focal.Uhhhhhh... no.
Why do all focal? Could do so much more with that much money.
If I had that budget, I say first step is get a quad alt bracket. Next get three HO alternators. Excessive is probably the best value, and he might cut you a deal on three.
For batteries, go to the local shop and see if they'll cut you a deal on a bunch of generic "rebadged" group 31 AGM's
A spool of welding cable will leave you more money for other things, compared to "car audio" labeled wire.
For amps, I'd say two Twisted Sounds 8.5k's or find a pair of used amps like M4a's, NS's, Ampere TFE's, DC 9k/10k's, ect.
For subs if you're limited on space, a couple of beefy 4" coil monsters like Sundown "Team" series or possibly three 3" coil subs like Nightshades, Zv4's, or the obvious DD Z's if you want to go all out. There will be lots of headroom with that much amplifier power, and you can always add more subs later if you want more output.
For mids/highs, I like Pro Audio drivers and bullet tweeters. They're not for everyone. Listen to different types of setups and find what you prefer before shelling out money on something you can't stand.
There's a DC 175.4 on here reasonably priced, iirc.
That's what I'd do if I could do it all over again
Never done crack, and he looks older than me.I thought it was you on crack

Yeah, our tastes in music are different.Agree to disagree on Focal. Admittedly, it is pricey stuff. But build quality and performance justify it. If I had a wad of cash to spend, Focal would definitely be on MY short list.
I guess it largely depends on the kinds of music you enjoy. Mostly I listen to rock-and-roll, alternative, folk, country, bluegrass, jazz, blues and classical. Accurate reproduction is more important to me than volume or bass impact. If my tastes were more to electronic, house or hip-hop I might feel differently

Yes, but it's also important that lows, mids and highs have seemless transitions from one to the other to the other. Whether Focal makes the very best of every kind of driver, I don't know, but their drivers are all of first-class quality and are designed to work well with one another.Never done crack, and he looks older than me.
Yeah, our tastes in music are different.
Also, I don't believe there is one brand that has the best of everything. Like you could get the best sub for your appliction from one brand, but the best amp for you might be a different brand. I'm never going to do a single-brand build.
Like I'd get DDZ's with Twisted 8.5k's
Sounds like the best idea . If your asking how to spend it then i suggest you do zero work yourself and buy something already fully done up. Ive seen some mean rides go for less then 50 kHow about sell the Tahoe and buy some old classic car or suv to customize, at least that way you have something that's worth 50k when you're done. Just a thought. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Oh, I don't know... I've seen my share of bluegrass festivals on TV and the audiences seem to represent a fairly wide cross section of age demographics. Your view is informed by inaccurate stereotypes. You will never see my stereo play country. Ever. Nor bluegrass....wtf that's for old folks.
