.5 ohm stable Amp GOOD for daily use?

Stick with kicker run a zx2500.1 on them just get a better electrical going but its gonna be cleaner and you wont have to worry if your cooking your amp at .5ohm. This is a daily pounder try to stick at 1ohm and above. The 2500.1 is a hell of an amp. Im not sure your reasoning for wanting to run at .5ohm.
Oh yeah you prolly looked at my sig. Its says I have 2 4ohm subs.... I do and thats what im using now with a mmats 1ohm stable amp, but I also have 2 15" kicker L7's 2 ohm subs. I want to end up using the 2ohm ones. I am changing my sig. right now

I know but this is a daily system and 2 dual 2ohm subs wired in series gives you 2ohm which is much better for a daily pounder. Less THD and more real world power due to the efficiency at .5ohm and 1ohm. Not as hard on electrical either.

No I would run the dual 2ohm subs at 2 ohm with an amp that does great at 2ohm my preference would be the zx2500.1 or a hifonics amp that is a 2channel class D that bridged does a 2ohm load. Those subs will handle alot, I have 2200 watts on one single cvx 12 dual 2ohm at the moment and it doesn't try to burn up it just has no suspension left lol.

why not just run the two dual 4's at one ohm?
Thats what Im doing right now....but i have 2 BRAND NEW 08 2ohm L7's. The 4ohm L7's I got are like the 06 model and have some sorts of wear and ect. I just wanted the loudest of the 2 also, which would be the 2ohm subs wired down to .5 ohms. I made this thread really asking if it would be a smart idea or not to run a system @ .5ohms daily. Some say yeah.... some say no. If so what amp?

Ok maybe im getting mixed up... does less ohms mean louder or just not as clear in sound or both? Okay whats louder here also what would sound better...

2000rms @ .5ohms

2000 rms @ 2ohms

2000 rms @ 1ohms

2000 rms @ 4ohms

Those are my options. Just the less resistance the clearer it sounds? Am I making any sense:confused:

Not true the less resistance the more power you need as far as voltage and amperage input go. An amp usually has more THD at lower impedance's so try to stick a little higher on the impedance but not to high you want to still try to feed the sub its rms to get the best sq and response out of it all assuming your enclosure is built correctly. And when you series subs together there actual dc resistance lessens, which means the signal to noise ratio increases. (IN TURN louder cleaner with less power going in.)

Awesome, so the best suit for me would be the 2- 2ohm L7's with the Kicker zx2500.1 which does 2500rms @ 2ohms. I thought that amp did 2500rms @ 1ohm. oops! Thanks alot man. That makes me feel better. I really didn't want to do .5 ohms.

You can ahchieve more power out of less ohms but its a DIRTY signal. 2000w@4ohm will be much cleaner then 2000w@1ohm but at 1ohm its not that bad. .5 ohm is pushing it

Okay, so sounds like 2ohms would be about perfect, you agree and anyone else agree?

Right you are that amp will get the most out of the those L7s. I smell a clean high 140s maybe even a 150.

And i here you im wanting to run one big amp on my 4 15s but there Dual 1ohm coils that either wire to .5 ohm 2ohm or 8ohm and I dont want to run a .5ohm or 8ohm but there isn't a big amp around that i can run at 2ohm and get the power i need that I can afford:crap: So im trying to get a pair of amp to strap a 2ohm that I can afford that will give me the power i need but im broke.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

2ohm is good. Although a majority of the amps on the market put out there max RATED power at 1ohm although on those amps IE (RD audio, Sundown, Incriminator, American Bass, basically any zenon board amp can run .5 although its NOT reccomended. Only amp that I could see could be useful for you would be the Kicker ZX2500 which does 2500@2ohm

I would be really happy to be in the 140's. The problem withis that I'm using a sealed box....94 honda accord haha. It's retarded I know. 4 15's that would be crazy. Btw way your not the only broke one. Haha college is out this Friday so I start back at work. Ima get that kicker amp for sure.
