Hello all,

I have an AP 1.5K ( Audiopipe 1500d)

Before my new install I made a post asking if this amp is .5 ohm stable.

Many said that the amp IS .5 ohm stable if one keeps the voltage up.

Today I wired my AP @ .5 ~ .6 ohm and the amp IS functional at almost NO power.

However when I exceed maybe 600w (estimate) the amp shuts down

Further I havent seen the charging system drop below 12.5V

WAHT DO YOU THINK????????

I agree, just because we surmise it will work, or have our own successes with it working down there below 1 ohm, does not mean you have that same success...

also i'd try the amp @ another ohm load (assume two dual 2's or a single dual 1 sub, you can get 2 ohm out of it), and see if you protect there too - i say this b/c you have a .5 ohm load and i'm guessing at your vc impedences.... pardon me if i'm incorrect.

I think you bought a very cheap Chinese amp and you're lucky you didn't blow it up trying to run .5 ohm.
how the hell did you not get groaned for saying the exact same thing I did and got flamed to hell and back for?

edit: also op, are you using the stock voltage meter? try using a dmm at the amp it's self to see voltage. I bet it's lot lower then up front.

Why do you think it is 600w?

Why do you think it is 600w?
Its a brand new setup so I cant say for sure, but I used 600w as an assumption derived from experience and similar output.

BUT again it is in an IB setup which is something I have never messed with before.

OP if you want to wire to .5 get rid of the 1500 and pick op the SS DTR 2200 in the classifieds....
I searched "SS DTR 2200" but came up with no conclusive results.

Im looking for ~ 2200 to 2500 w RMS @ 1/2 ohm.

OR ~ 2200 2500 w @ 2 ohm.

It will run at .5 and lower, youre doing it wrong. I install a few of these amps every week/month and have seen none with issues so far.
Its very possible that I am doing it wrong.

Pleas give me some pointers.

Im not a know it all, or even close, I NEED HELP.

Thanks
