Well, sorry for the late post, but I got called out of town and some things changed on my new install. The Cerwin Vega separates deal didn't work out so I found a 2 sets of Infinity Kappa 60.9cs (2ohm) on closeout. Pulled the trigger on those and am very happy other than the huge tweeters. Had to do some modification to my windshield pillars to fit them in, surface mounted the rear ones above the seat belt. Mid bass problems are solved. As far as the Massive NX5 amp, I totally rewired everything using none of the factory wiring. Have 0 gauge power running to a dist. block located about 3 feet from the amp. Out of that I have about 3' of 4ga. running to the amp. Ran new (6') 4ga. directly to the frame. All new speaker wires and RCA's from head unit. Have one 4" fan blowing on the amp on one side. The amp does get very hot (too hot to touch) when running at somewhat high volumes and will go into protect after about 30 mins. Lasts about 3-5 mins then turns back on. Today, I am installing another 4" fan to blow on another side and a small 3" fan pulling exhaust away. I think my problem is the spot that I have it mounted, under the back seat back tucked up behind the under seat sub box. With the seat down it is a very small area and does not get much air space. I know this is a class A/B amp and will get hotter, but my previous JVC class D was doing the same thing. Hopefully the 3 fan system will solve my problems, if not, I'm going to have to re-think my configuration and install amp somewhere else. Amp sounds great, not maxing out gains, and it is more than loud enough. All filters on amp are off and I am controlling filters through head unit (Avic) only. I am very pleased with the whole set-up, just gotta get this amp cooled down somehow. Wish I had the room to mount a side discharge 6" or 8" fan, but there just isn't the room. But with the three (computer style) fan setup, I should be flowing a lot more CFM and maybe this will solve the problem. Install them today, give me a few days to test out and I will let y'all know the outcome.
