5 channel amp of 1 set of rcas

His Hu has 1 preout. So I can set it to 2 and use the rcas from his Hu to which input front rear or sub?

And he doesn't want to spend anymore $ on this project unless he absolutely has to. So a new head unit is out of question unless it will be easier and cheaper to go that way .

And the amp is a powerbass Asa 900.5. Not 1100.5

I'd try front first. If that doesn't do it try the rears. I doubt it's sub.

Just get the initial tune as accurate as possible. If the user's not the type of person that has to adjust their music settings all the 2 ch input will make zero difference to them.

Saying his friends wiring is spaghetti and some extra RCA's I just don't see a 3 pre out happening anytime soon. You'd have to be a dam good buddy to straighten that **** out.

What's the point of having a 5 ch amp if it can't be fully used? That's like spending 600 bucks on a good 1 ohm stable amp and running it at 4 ohm load.

Uh, no. It's not.

Not like that at all.

It would be helpful for those who come here to learn if you understood the point of selectable input before you try to tell someone how bad it is (especially when it's not).

I've owned a few 5 ch amps. None of which had a selectable 2/3 ch mode. Course they were slightly older models, same brand.

imo it's still stupid, regardless of your last reply.

ok my buddy had it wrong. it is a 1100.5 amp

he has a head unit with 1 rca pre out.

the amp has input modes of 5 4 2

so at least id need 2 sets of rcas???

so if we only have 1 then would a y splitter work to create to rcas?
