5 batteries

Thats odd, there's no mention at all on Optima's website about an Orange Top battery. If this really is an Optima then it's possible that it's a European Optima battery, meaning it's normally only available in Europe. Notice the description says it's designed for European cars. Either way, I emailed Optima about it being that I'm curious as to whether or not these really are Optimas.

really john carr and memphisflexx says those amps are pretty **** good
I've looked at audiopipe amps before, and most of them are cheap flea market stuff. The one you own/plan on buying is their biggest amp and is probably better then the rest but prolly still puts out alotta distortion.

well i hope not but i am giving myself 3 days to figure out what i am gonna buy i have an 8oo dollar limit on amps maybe a lil more

I got a reply back this morning from Optima, here's what they said about the Orange Top.

"The 34R battery used to have an orange top, to differentiate it from RedTop34.

This battery now has a red top though. I think the picture is just old(er).

We recommend YellowTop batteries for audio applications, not RedTop.

Thank you,

ah, redtops with swapped terminals. werid but ok.

for 70 a piece, its a good investment. Red tops arent that great, but if you have enough of them it wont matter too much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Id say go for it.

Since Optima says they used to have an Orange Top and the listings are old, I wonder just how old those Orange Top batteries really are.
I thought that it was the orange top might be a euro/jap designation since the poles are reversed which is why Hawaii may of had some shipped there. At least, thats what went thru my mind first. Not necessarily that they're old.

I use a redtop of front, holds up well. As far as using them for just audio I dunno, but like someone said above if enough it wouldn't matter. That's a steal though.
The Redtops are primarily a starting battery, so they have a great burst of energy for starting but don't recharge as fast as the yellow tops. That wouldn't really matter when you have a bank of them, so if the price is right and the batteries are all still good and don't have dead cells then it's a good price.
