paid 325 w/ tax brand new when this generation first came out....i liked it alot...so much that im upgrading to a color one

Apple has been making iPods since 10-23-2001.

I'm not sure about prophets but I know we've shipped over fifteen and a half million iPods; Analysts project 35 million by the end of the fiscal year.

Another neat fact?

All iPods have to be sold within 90 days of their date of manufacture; If a customer calls with a proof of purchase more than 90 days after the initial manfacture date, [ .. lots of internal things happen. ]

Also - Hewlett-Packard licensed the 3rd gen iPod, and had an amount of them branded with the HP logo. In doing so, they also licensed the incoming calls for fee-based technical support on HP iPods - so don't call Apple.
