454 hemi???

Lol, I hate when people call them that. Also, another thing that makes me go crazy is calling their SIM card sims cards
yah... or when people refer to the internet like it's their's...

hey man can you help me my internet is broken...

Yep, no 454 hemi. chevy doesnt have a hemi head. Not many cars actually have them heads. DOHC ford motor is a hemi with spark plugs down in the heads, but other than that, GM is in love with their 350 OHV engines.

actually your all wrong-

The kid is FOS but

There was a bunch of BigBlockChevy experimental engines with

Hemispherical heads but they never went into production.

there is no such thing as a 454 hemi; gm has never used a hemispherical head. maybe one out there if some rich guy had a custom block made.but there is no way your friend would ever get one.
Why would need a custom block to make "hemi motor"?

There are heads that use the Hemi technology, for chevys ...where have all ya'll been? For both BBC and SBCs,and ford on the older mustangs motor (Older as in late 60's and use in trans am motors)use hemi tech on there motors(dont know what motor cuz I am not a ford guy)

actually i beleive ford was the first to use a hemi head. then later sold the name "hemi" to chrysler who then made it famous. but i may be wrong.....

you are.......they both were working on hemi type heads around the same time but both ignorant of the others work. the original hemi motors were used in airplanes during WWII in the P47 Thunderbolt. It was a V-16 design and produced a rated 2500 hp. It was a breakthrough because a piston driven engine broke 500mph. They later put out the first automotive hemi under the name Fire Power V-8 and displaced 331 c.i.. It was a 2-barrel and made 180 horse at 310 ft/lbs torque. Desoto was the second company to release a hemi, it was a whopping 276 c.i.d. the 426 never hit the street until 66 but they were available as a race motor only in 64.

you can bore a small block 400 to 454ci too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

...if yall want to see a hot motor, a pic of my aluminum sbc 383 is in my gallery...600hp

I got a bunch of pics somewhere. it's in an '83 elcamino. all autometer gauges in custom made panel....custom fab9 rear end made by chassisworks...turbo400 tranny w/ transbrake and 4000 stall. I'll have to look through my hard drive at home to find them....on work pc here.

Here's a hint ...
If someone says it at school, then it's probably not true ...

For future reference ...
I don't believe a word he says anyhow. He comes to school in his POS truck (which he spraypainted flat-black) and we are talking about how gas prices jumped and stuff, this is his reply to the conversation.

"Yep... Iam sure glad I took out my 405 last night and put a 307 in it."

Just like he swapped engines over night after claiming to work 40 hours a week while in school //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Lol, he also told me he drove a Save-A-Lot semi to Alaska and killed 7 big black bears and brought them back over the weekend. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

BUT, with experience and knowledge, a swap could be a one nighter...
