Im planning on upgrading to a HO alternator and I was wondering if anyone knew if I could use the Delco type cs144 in a '99 chevy malibu.

I know the 130type is what direct fits it but the 144 is bigger so im not sure if the fitting will be correct.

Your gonna need alot more than a 144 amp alternator to support 4k. Not to be a dick but really man what kind of electrical did you think you could get away with.

hope you got a capacitor in there somewhere
guys thats mean.

You are going to need an actual HO alt..somewhere around 200 would be alot more helpfull then a 130 or a 144. Also you will need to upgrade your stock battery to a stinger or kenitik ( sp idc ) as well as probably running another battery in the trunk.

what amp are you running, what ohms is your system at?

a few of them for 4k watts
or just one really big capacitor... like say 8 farads or above should do the trick even 6 farads would be plenty but 8 just to be on the safe side although i have seen a 100 farad cap which would be more than enough
