4000w amp, effect on differ subs?

Yes, of coarse, there are those rating exceptions

We are going to look at the common view, which holds true on good products:

soo

With 2x1000w, what would happen to the set ups?

The common view being what? That RMS is half of the max?

Because that is not the common view at all. It is the noob view.

The common view is that RMS is what matters, and not the max. Max means nothing.

And BTW, almost any company that even posts their "max," isn't a "good product."

Now. Solve all the problems, and post what amp you are talking about. And we can tell you the real specs.

I never stated the common view to be educated, nor always or normally the "correct" view because of misguidance, which spreads fast

Forgetting this is more hypothetical than anything, and also generalities

I have no physical amp specs..........but if you all want specs, I will give you some, to go off of:

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

LANZAR MXA282(MXA-282)

* 2 x 1000 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms

* 2 x 2000 Watts Max at 4 Ohms

* 1 x 4000 Watts Max at 4 Ohms Bridged

* 2 x 1650 Watts RMS at 2 Ohms

Let me make it easier for everyone:

Possible Answer:

The subs should run fine......as long as there is no distortion, but you would just be wasting a big amount of power

Agree or Disagree (please explain, if disagree)

Thanks again

Note: All hypothetical situations should be taken into thought, with use of proper gain control.......using a 4000w amp, 2 channel......soo 2000w per channel and that would make around 1000RMS per channel??
Hypothetical Situations

A.

(2) 10" 600w max (300rms) subs

B.

(2) Kicker CVR-12 or L5 or L7 12"

C.

(2) 15" Kicker CVR 2000w max (I think they are 1000w rms)

(I know, these are major factors..........but OHMs, wiring, etc. are not taken into consider.......just general analysis')

Remember, proper gain controlling.........would it be possible/would that be a plausible setup?

What ill effects do you see happening on each setup?

How likely are those ill effects to happen and how long before they would happen (period of time)?

Please give your thoughts on each setup
If the gain is set correctly (to the rms of the subwoofers hooked up) there will be no problems

The real "technical specifications" of that amp...on the high side

2 x 150 Watts RMS at 4 ohms

2 x 250 Watts RMS at 2 ohms

1 x 400 Watts RMS at 4 ohms bridged

Because of that information, this amp would be fine on any of those subs and would have 0 problems whatsoever. The subs at least wouldn't.

BTW, that amps fusing is 2 x 35 amps. It won't do over 800 watts at 1 ohm. Let alone 4000 at 4. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif:laugh:

Hypothetical Situations

A.

(2) 10" 600w max (300rms) subs

It would underpower these subs. Make sure to set the gain to not clip the amp too bad.

B.

(2) Kicker CVR-12 or L5 or L7 12"

It would underpower these subs. Make sure to set the gain to not clip the amp too bad.

C.

(2) 15" Kicker CVR 2000w max (I think they are 1000w rms)

It would greatly underpower these subs. About a fifth of the power needed to run these. Make sure to set the gain to not clip the amp too bad.

(I know, these are major factors..........but OHMs, wiring, etc. are not taken into consider.......just general analysis')

Yup

of coarse, the point was, without real specs.....generally speaking a high watt amp and low watt speakers what would happen

and I got my answer, which I hypothesized

cut-dry answer: gain correct, don't distort, should be fine

Thanks Everybody
