On a serious note I got a 99 Grand am and I love it. I have had it for several years and it has been great to me. The only thing I have had go wrong is the driver window motor went out but it was a cheap DIY fix.

I know they are ALRIGHT cars, but they have transmission problems down the line, and if hes just graduating I think he should probably get something a little more reliable. Just my 2 cents... a couple of my friends have grand ams, which is how I know. Maybe they had the "bad" ones though lol, as yours seems to treat you pretty well.

Anyways, that being said they arent the worst car you could buy, and american cars arent ridiculous to fix so it wouldnt be terrible for you... I just think that being a future college student, an import would be a wise decision.
