ive got $400 for subs, my amp is a memphis 1000d(1100 x 1 @ 1 ohm). lookin for 2 10's or 2 12's. got about 5 cubes to work with its all goin in a 01 mitsubishi eclipse. lookin for a 60/40 spl/sq mix. ne suggestions???

That would be a good choice. Port it to around 35Hz, and you'd be set. Even have some space left over...

yeah but the xxx's dont run good off of only 1100 watts. so im lookin for 2 10's or 12's that r bout 600 rms a piece

power handling capability = enclosure dependent.

You could make an XXX reach Xmax off 600W if you wanted to, and had the space for it.

I agree power handling/requirements are enclosure dependant, but Im not sure you could push a XXX to full excursion with 600 watts even free-air. Or there is always eclipse. it could be that im a fan/owner but two 12 Aluminums get pretty loud and sound good. You would be 50 watts over the RMS rating but they will be fine cause ive seen them driven over 100watts past that rating.
