$400-$500 Budget, which comps?

My headunit is an Pioneer 4800MP, an Infinity 7541 Amp( putting out 111 watts a channel, 278 bridged), and very soon a Kicker 750.1 amp and a 12" CVX.

I personally go with the rainbows again, just because I know them. with comps in that price range, the cal 20's are a bit bright and EQing them down at between 12-16k hz works wonders.

With that 4 channel amp, why not bi-amp or run active? You could sell your current HU, buy a decent set of comps and an active capable HU, like the Pioneer 880PRS.

You have $500 to spend.

...sell your HU for around $75.

...you now have about $575 to spend.

...buy a 880PRS for $300.

...you now have $275 left.

...buy some TS-C720PRS comps for about $260.

...you still have $15 bucks left, sweet.

Or to save even more money, you can always build your own active comp set by picking out mids and tweeters over at a place like madisound.com.
