You may be right. I have heard that the CVR is not exactly a SQ sub, but it sounds **** good to me at 34 hz right now....

Anyway, I am still confused where to tune. Somewhere between 34-40hz...

Will there be a noticeable difference between say 34 and 38?

Also, will there be a big difference between 2 cubes per sub or 2.5?

I had my old box tuned to 40 (1.79ft3/sub) exactly and it was perfect for me....nice strong peaks and alright lows....coulnd'nt hit the really lows though.

BTW one of my friends has 2 kicker cvr's i think there 12"s in a sealed box and it slams even for being sealed... in a truck cab it makes all the pieces on the dash rattle + shake everything in the cabin even run off some chrome audiobahn amp

split the difference and go with 37 hz and build the box on the large size of what is recommended. You will not hear that much of a difference between 34 hz and 38hz etc. I like really low bass so that is why I have my box tuned low, but it still has plenty of punch for rap.

So if I go with what kicker says and tune around 40.... What am I going to be missing out?

Like everyone says im goinna lose low end, but what does that really mean?

means you wont hit the low notes in teh bassline....you dont know what the lows are??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I didnt mean it like that...

I dont know how to explain it...

Any program that I can d/l and play songs through to see what frequency they are actually dropping to?

I am still confused what to tune to!

Try late night tip by three six mafia.

The low part of that song hits pretty darn low, if you have your box tuned around 40hz this low part will not be loud, if you have it tuned around 30-32 hz this low part will really rumble.

See im so confused what to do...

I want this thing to be loud to the ear... couldnt really give a shit about a mic...

Now its also awesome to feel the rumbling

My current box is 34hz...

Part of me wants to tune real low like 30-32hz to feel the real lows...

Another part of me wants to tune around 35ish hz...

And then another part of me wants to tune around 38-40hz cause kicker says it will sound great with music...

All that tuning higher does is increase the volume of a small range of freq, usually from right around the tuning and about 5 or 6 hz above that. So if you tune around 40hz you will notice extra output at 40-46 hz which is great for songs that fall into that range but you will have less volume on freq below that range. The higher you tune the more uneven your bass sounds, you will have a bass note that blows your head off then the next note you cannot even hear. When you tune low most of the notes are around the same volume.

Hmmm...

Im basically considering three options... 32 hz, 35 hz, 38 hz...

I know that there wont be HUGE differences between any, but obviously there will be some...
