4 type R? 3 shiva? or one brahma?

ok i have a question....hears the deal i have a mercedes....and i want to know wut i should go with........4 alpine type R 12" ($480)....3 adire audio shivas 12 " (380).....or one 15 " brahma ($425).....i am looking for great sq AND sql....please keep in mind that space in my trunk is kinda limmited i could fit 4 12's back there but thats it....bye bye trunk space.......i am going to power my choice of subs with a JBL 1200.1... any advice would be appreciated....peace

The Brahma would have the best sound quality, and you would have the most room left. The Shiva's are a great call as well.

I would get the Brahma 15". Wouldn't u like to Impress people with one sub. That Sub is awsome.

alright thats wut i was kinda leaning towards to.....save ALOT of room and a lil more money in my pocket.....but do u think with the right set up it would have more SPL than the 4 aplines or the 3 shivas??? like which of those would be the LOUDEST...peace

i'd say the 4 tpe r's just due to cone area but the 3 shiva's would be very close if you ask me they are more of an SPL woofer than a type R even though yes i know type r's can hit. oh and i agree go with a single brahma 15".

Space requirements would lean me toward the singular brahma 15". And I prefer the sound of the brahma to the shiva/tempest. (in car)

If you like, port the brahma 15" in your vehicle for added output, I'm quite sure it'll make people look twice, they are an imposing driver...

Zman May I direct you towards the light of RE. Dollar for dollar its hard to beat this woofer. They are relativly cheap and they really perfom welland you can get about 2 of them for the price of a Brahma or 4 type R's. Just give them good power, port the box and tune it low, unless you are looking to do SPL comps.

Yes, the XXX 15 would be awesome in a 4.0 cu ft ported enclosure. The Brahma, likewise. It is all a matter of opinion what do you want more, SPL or SQ???

SPL........SQ is awsome but i'm linging more torwords the SPL.......i think i might go with the one Brahma 15" put it in a huge ported box and power it with a JBL 1200.1....how doeas this sound?

sounds like you'll need to hold on to your seat b/c you will have a very loud system for just 1 15" if the box is done correctly my man. make sure you got good other speaker's to back it though.

I think a 15" XXX will put out more SPL than a brahma. if your looking for just straight SPL i can get a brand new MTX RFL for 450+Shipping. But that has no SQ at all.
