4 Speakers - $300 budget - Whats should i get?

I want to replace the 4 speakers that are in my car. I have a Pioneer DEH-P7600MP head unit. The current (20 year old) factory speakers are in bad shape. Whats the best speakers i can get for $300?

The current speakers are all 4" or smaller and i have to get creative to mount larger speakers so i dont care if they are 5.25" or 6". I want round so no 6X9's.

Also... should i get a 4 channel amp to power them or will the head unit be enough? Maybe the question should be... would a 4 channel amp powering the 4 speakers be a worthwhile improvement over powering them with the head unit? I'm asking because i might as well rewire while im swapping out the speakers.

Does this mean i should get good front speakers (skip the rears) and an external amp? Any recommendation for front speakers?
I have an old 2 channel "800w" 7201 kenwood amp. Would this work?
Unless done correctly an aftermarket rear stage will ruin the work of your front stage. Usually you focus on your front stage and keep the stocks in for the rears just to help with that 3D feeling

Yes forget the rears. The speakers I linked above and this amp would make a nice combo for around $300.ARC AUDIO FD2200 NEW AMP 2 CH 370 WATT PRO AMPLIFIER | eBay
Would this amp be safe to use with the speakers you linked to?

I'm not really sure how capable that amp is. It's a kenwood. Kenwood isn't known for producing very good amplifiers. What is the model number of the amp?
kac-7201 . Its pretty old. Came in a truck i bought that didnt have speakers so i took it out.

Yea that amp will be great for a set of components!! as long as it's in good working order. Now that you have a decent amp you can focus on a good set of components. In the $300 range you can get a great sounding set!

it also depends on your car or truck.i like my rear fill it fills in nicely between the subs and frt .frt stage is very important but the rear fill makes a nice transition between the subs and mid bass and vocals.in some cars or trucks if you dont have a rear fill you will notice a frequency drop usually in the midbass or in the vocals
