Hi folks. I'm needing to replace my OEM speakers, 25 years old. I need to use the original mounts, which are odd. They are "insert and lock by rotate" by BMW and don't have any expected screw mounts for modern 4" speakers.

Question 1: How can I handle this? I'm thinking break the tabs and pop out the current speakers. Then I have the same rotate system. Can I fill those notches with hot glue then drill holes for whatever speaker I buy?

Question 2: What speakers do you recommend? My measurements show a 100mm type (4") full range, with 56 mm depth to play with. The depth is the restriction as my car is a convertible. Not much play here. I'm thinking 150W and higher, and I think the stock is a 50W speaker.

Any insight appreciated. Cheers
