4" Aero Question

So I drove up to PE and bought the Dayton 4" Outside flares for a friends box, but didn't want to buy the ABS port tubes from them because they are crazy expensive

Anyway, I've found that PVC doesn't work as it is sized a little differently than the ABS pipe. I figure ABS plumbing pipe would work, but I can't find it anywhere

anyone know where I can find pipe that will work with the Dayton 4" ports?

Never used the dayton brand ports, but I know for the precision port models you have to grind the ends down a little bit on store bought PVC pipe so they can fit into the flared ends.

tried sanding it down with a belt sander, even tried putting slits in the pipe. PVC is just sized a touch larger than the ABS ports

I need to try and find ABS pipe, but in my area its hard to find. I've heard its easy to find in the south, but not common in the north and midwest

why didnt you just buy the precision port aero ports that come with the ends and tube?? no like theyre expensive.

are you using thin walled pvc?

Lowes sells 10' (I believe?) pieces of thin walled PVC for $7. Use a miter saw and cut some lengths out.

already tried the lowes thin wall PVC, it will not work with the Dayton flares

Should have just broken down and bought the precision 4" ports for $12 in the first place.

well with the size of the box we are building the ports will be pretty long so we needed something modular that we could add elbows and such to. I thought the Daytons would work great but apparently not so much
