dude, the w7 cant even compete with a woofer the caliber of the ssx. it is on a completely different level. anythings install dependant, but the w7 cant hang with the ssx.

sure it can... like i said it is all install dependant, and no the crown does not have a lot of distortion....

thats like saying a type-r cant hang w/ a xxx or a w7 but in some applications it can...

you need to get some more listening experience with both subs first before making statements like that. the W7 isnt half the woofer that the ssx is. SQ wise i'm sure it can be on the same level, but SPL wise, the ssx will always come out on top.

i thought i read the crown had less then that o well, and spl is determined BY INSTALL! how do you think l7's are doing 140s in some installs and 160s in others?

i am a huge treo fan, cause they make a great product. its a shame that they arent as mainstream as others, but it makes it fun since they are a little more exclusive.

oh, and when it comes to SQL, the W7 isnt half the woofer of the w6v2.

but imo the W7 is a little more SPL oriented than SQ. same with the ssx.

woofers more so than speakers, create more distortion. just more distortion being fed to the woofers, no matter if it is audible or not.

Well you said it may not be audible on low bass notes...what is a low bass note? What about 50hz? 60? 70?

I would just say to the original poster to shop around, and try and look/listen to some actual products in your area before you rush out and buy something, don't just listen to a lot of sometimes biased and sometimes not well informed users of an online car audio forum. I will say though that 8 12's is waaay too many woofers for any car IMO, I would limit it to 4 at the most. Good luck, and hopefully you will find what you're looking for in the end.
