4 inch replacing soft dome tweeter?

I'm sure some of you follow Amplified on YouTube, if not he has an awesome minitruck build going. Instead of doing the traditional grunt stage he put a 6.5 and a 4inch in his kick and thinks it sounds good... Was wondering if anyone else has done this and how it turned out. I listen to a lot of dub step related music so I was wondering how practical of an application this would be for me. Any input is greatly appreciated.

They have to aim a certain way. I run stuff in the kick and you really have to get the positioning and angles perfect or it throws off the soundstage completely.
I could just drop the 4s in my upper door panel but I read of keeping them within a wavelength or something like that but I have no idea what that means lol

I don't think my kicks are large enough to put anything in. And the way I sit I feel like my legs would interrupt the staging anyway

It's the so-called "widebander" trend that has been dwindling over the past few years. There are arguments for not using a small tweeter, but I don't like that approach. The Mule is a project to please one guy.

Yes the mule is the one I was referring to. Strange overall project, but I like how it's turning out. I wanted to try it but I don't know how to properly set everything up without causing cancellation, or really any acoustical failure because I'm short on knowledge. Are there any advantages to doing that?

I searched and a long-winded thread about this came up. If you don't read it all, like if you're browsing on a small screen, just go to post #228 by Andy Wehmeyer. It's still a wall of text to plow through but it puts this topic to rest.

Oh didn't see this when I posted last. I'll check it out, thanks man.
