4 gauge wire ?

There are lots of charts available. There is no exact number because what happens is the wire gets hot and it's an arbitrary decision as to how hot is safe. Depends on the insulation a lot as well. Here is a chart that looks generally accurate. I'd probably stay a bit below what they list here since car audio wire is usually very soft insulation. These charts are for copper wire only. If you are using aluminum, they will be just a bit lower.
