4 channel question...

i have a memphis 3004 amp, and i had a question about ohms and wattage. is it possible to run my 2 front channels at 4 ohms, and my rear channels at 2 ohms? or do i have to run all 4 channels at the same ohms? my amp is both 2 and 4 ohm stable. any and all help/imput is appreciated. thx in advance.

I think only JL amps let you do that. (slash, slash v2 and HD's)

Yes, you can run a different impedance on the front & rear channels.

I'm not sure, but I don't htink this is correct. It doesn't make sense logically. The Amp acts as a power source, and the speakers act like a power leech. The resistance of the driver(s) is the only variable, the amp is putting out the same amount of power, it's just less resistant.

But I could be wrong.

100%, unequivocally, definitely, absolutely, unquestionably, indisputably,

incontrovertibly, indubitably, unmistakebly, positively sure it is not a problem.

Is that comforting enough ? Because if not I'm going to have to pull out the Thesaurus next......

It doesn't matter, you can have the front at an 8 ohm bridge and the rear at 2 ohm stereo and it would be A-okay.

It will not bother your amp having different impedences like that
