I'm getting ready to install an 4 channel amp in my 05 Dakota quad cab and had a question about doing the speaker wiring...what's the best way to do it? Run all new wiring from the amp to the speakers in the doors or run the wiring to the head unit and take over the factory speaker wire?

If it makes a difference I'm not going in any competitions, it's just my weekend cruiser.

Also, any suggestions on where to get my 8 gauge wire through my firewall would be appreciated!

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
