Ok guys after getting my nin.1's jacked I bought 2 new sub amps ppi bk1800.d. The thieves did not get my 2 alpine type x 's so at the moment I am running 1 amp on each in 2 ohm making about 1100 rms on each. They sound great, very accurate, and quite powerful. But me being me I am not 100% happy with the output.
So here is what I am thinking I either want to get another pair of the type x's so I can run 1 amp on 2 subs at 1 ohm making 1800 rms. Or make the move into the 18" club. I have not settled on a specific pair of 18" subs but I need them to be dual 2 ohm and be able to take 1800 rms daily. I am really focusing on output with this set up. I listen to a wide varity of music but generally lean towards rap/hiphop. All of the equipment is going in a mid sized suv so I have plenty of room in the back (at one point I had 4 sundown e15's in 16 cu3 ported) for a big box. I am just concerned about the 18's being accurate.
electrical is solid: 220 amp mechman alt, 3 runs of 00 ofc, 1 yellow top under the hood, and 2 xs 2500's in the back. So I see no reason 1 ohm operation would not work.
Wat u guys think?? 4 type x 12's or jump up to a pair of medium to high lvl 1800 rms 18's? open to used equipment or custom woofers and I have a budget of around 500 per sub.. is that enough?? and with 1800 rms am I being over ambitious on wanting to try 18" woofers??
18" woofers I am considering:
2 sundown x18's= $859
2 re sx 18's= just under $600
2 american bass hd 18's $750.00
2 b2 audio hn18= found a pair fo 800$
on the low end ppi pc18d= $550.00 pair??
Just to be clear I am very happy with the type x's (very uner loved woofer) its just If I am going to spend damm near 600$ for a pair of woffers.......etc
thanx any help to push me over the 18" ledge would be awesome.
