(4) 6.5" SUBS vs. (2) 8" SUBS

There are four of them in the classifieds right now for $130 shipped. Nice little subs imo...
Most of the info I've seen has the TB 6.5's being more well liked than the ED's. Also not buying at this time, just trying to get some planning set in stone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Dragon, any idea what kind of numbers you are hitting with the 15? Cuz the idea of 2 ID8's outperforming my Level 4 makes me drool ha.

Especially since my old E8's couldn't keep up.

To OP: I have heard good things about the ED's though I havent heard them in person. But for the price, i'm thinking it would still be a fun experiment.

Edit: TB's fall in this same type of thinking.

I've thought about buying a few of the TB's a time or two myself. I've heard good things about them...

I have no clue. I wanted to get metered before I changed setups. Issue is the closest person in MI with a TL is about 3 hours away and its just not worth it. If someone closer to me has access to one I could do it. I still have the DC and box in my garage.

Ha thats what I was thinking. They are waay up on my list if they can outperform a 15, especially a 15 as nice as the LV4

haha i'll just pretend my 12" Level 4 is louder and not spend more money on subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I can get you custom built Atomic 8s to handle 500rms all day long each and have an eff rating in the high 80 like around 88.somthing. I used them in a vet in the spot behind each seat running them off of an Atomic 1000.1 amp and they take it all day long. Very clean and if you want them to hit deep then tune around 34hz you want a little more spl but still have good music then 36-38hz 38hz tops cause they very punchy tuned that high on 1000rms a pair.

two REx8's will work well in about 1cubic foot.....tune it around 30hz, and there's your low's.......btw they should handle around 500wrms, and there only 40-50$ a pop
I sell reaudio and used the RE8D4 last year they take about 200-225 tops and thats of clean unclipped power. box is 1.25 cubes for best music output tuned to 34hz tuning lower does very little for the lower end but takes away from their output on the sub. They are a very low $ sub and the biggest problem is the susp got way to soft way to fast running on 450rms true power and they got sloppy. If you want some killer 6.5" look up the RE Audio XXX comp set and order just the 6.5" drivers they have 1"xmax and handle good power. Still IMO no 6.5 will play down low all that loud. Not even the ones I saw with the 3" coils played bass that well. Now uppper bass 45hz and up started to get stupid LOL
