okay so here is the issue, I have my toy car's motor coming out the shop in the next few weeks. I need to fill space in the car with my stereo. I'm planning for 4 Powerbass L-15s in a ported box. Powerbass recommends 6 ft3. with my experience with the "recommended" box size, all the companies usually go a bit small. can I go to 7 or 8 ft3 or is that too big? should i look to go with just 2 b/c of the size of the vehicle? any help is welcomed.

I'm either gonna go with 1000.1D or 1500.1D per pair. the 1000.1D is 1000x1 @ 1ohms and the 1500.1D is 1500x1 @ 1 ohm. I just have to see what's stocked by my ppl.

a little with the company knows best about their product. if you ever call 1 of these companies and asked them to recommend a box size and port they almost never give you the recommended sizes that are in your manual. I usually go 20-25% larger than the recommended. It worked pretty go for me so far.

With 4 15"s and all the equipment necessary to run them effectively, your username might not fit anymore. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well the motor that i'm waiting on to put into the car is a small block ford 347 with a base 400+ whp on just motor and about 600+ whp on nitrous. I think I can still live up to my screen name, especially since the car is not suitable for the track and will not be able to fully compete in audio competitions. the only ppl that could really judge it are the street guys.

that's what i'm planning on just have 2 issues to deal with.

Issue 1 is do I want to keep room for a roll cage?

Issue 2 is how many cubes is necessary for this wall? separate enclosures?

Forget the rollcage... If you build it solid enough you wont even need a rollcage.

Post up some pics of the car. If you give me the box specs you wanna run the subs with I could design something for you. Probably 2-4 seperate boxes, depending on the shape and size of the car.

why are u puting tha much power in a race car anyway i mean 4 15's in a focus dude come on your going to be putting 400hp down and god knows how much ft lb torque on the pavment and now u wanna go an put 4 15's in there. u have to think about the weight of it all just the box alone will prolly weigh over a 100lbs then add subs and amps and u know u have to have batts for all that thats bout anouther 100 or less pounds. then a roll cage!!! dont want to come off as like i am downing you but think about it just do 2 15's and see where how u like it, if not just find u another car, i would love to see how u get all that in that small of a car.

I agree.

The car might be able to still go fast with the 400hp but it will be heavy and clumsy on the road.
