I like to stay with 1:8...

First, you want clearance for the port at least the width (height in this case) free.

I can try to put the port on top if you would like, it will be a much more complex build to get the tuning you want though.

well.. it will be Way better than blocking the port... Really its different for every setup.

I have a jeep cherokee and I have tried every different type of box and firing every way. Port up subs up and port back subs up were about the same. The benefit I saw with both up is there was less noise from my back tail gate.

1:1 ratio example is 12x12

1:5 ratio example is 2x10

the 2nd box looks bad *** it shouldt be that hard to build 11 pieces of wood

4 for the port shit looks pretty easy the hardest part would be the angle on the bottom to get it to slant i think

rpfuror, what program do you use for these designs???

To lay them out I use the formulas that are in the sticky for port length (actuall there are a couple that I use) and then crunch the number in an excel sheet I made.

To build them in 3d I use google sketchup.
