4 10s vs. 2 12s

Would 4 10s on 2k or less power be louder than 2 12s on 3k? I can do some rd sonance 10s V1 in my single cab and they wouldnt take up much space. I was thinking around 500w to each of them. Or I can do up to 3k on 2 beefed up cadence daytona 12s. I know the 10s have more cone area over the 12s, and I dont want to spend the cash on a HO alt for 3k. This is a daily driver, doesnt need to put up numbers

running 4 10"s right now, serious pressure going on in the civic. definitely more than my past 2 12" setups on similar power.

That's a tough question. I think the 4 10's will be louder.

xmax matters in this situation, if the 12"s have tons more excursion than the 10"s they could take it.

Even if you have less power, youre still moving more air at one time. Depending on the subs and wattage I think two 10s can be louder than two 12s anyway
