4 10s and 2 2" horns, no tweeters, good simple 2 way set up?

Anyways any opinions on waveguides that could potentially sound good for close range listening like say 5-10 feet depending where your at on the boat or is this just something that no one messes with

I think waveguides and horns are the way to go on boats personally. The listening position in a boat is going to have a very limited axis that the speakers need to perform within. You probably can’t get 15 degrees from center(depending on where you are on the boat relative to the speakers) without being in the water. When you get around to subwoofer design, t-lines and horn enclosures work best in free air, if you have space.

I'll let you guys know how it works out. If the horns are a dud, a 6.5" coax fits in the hole. I went with the goldwood delmar woofers and prv D290Py-S compression drivers with some 6" horns.

I'm doing 4 - 10" up front with the 2 horns, 2 - 8" closer to the middle of the boat, and the boat already has 2 6.5" coax speakers behind the console and 2 more at the transom running on head unit power ill just cut the tweeter wires and use them for rear fill. One amp is bridged running the 4 10s at 250w a piece, the other is running the 8s and the horns.

I'm late to the game, but those don't look like good waveguides for you application - narrow dispersion. If you aim them on-axis, they'll make your ears bleed; aim them off axis and you'll miss your mids and highs. I think a car audio horn would have been idea, but expensive and difficult to source. If those horns don't work, I'd look into something with a wider dispersion like these. Good luck with the project.

I went with those simply because they fit, the cutout is round, and the hole will take a 6.5 coax. Cutting a square hole in a boat for a speaker borders on insanity as far as resale value ect. They sound great, I will probably add a super tweeter they are a little soft up top but other then that exactly as expected crystal clear and retarded loud. Not as harsh as a titanium driver and not as smooth as a dome tweeter. Overall good sound, and unbelievably loud. I pulled wires while I was at it to throw a sub in the cabin, a project for another day.
